Wedding Favors

For our wedding favors (after lots of looking around for ideas!) I decided on little food kits.
We had Candies Galore (just lollies) hot choc kit and S'more kits.

They went done well, people really liked them and our guests got to keep the jar as a little thing to remember the day!

So what you need:

-Jars, your choice of size and shape etc, I chose hexagonal 70mm tall with gold lids. I got my jars form the jar place in wellington- Arthur Holmes LTD, its in Newtown its is soooo fun!! $60

-ingredients for your jars - for the three types I did I needed:

hot choc: choc chips, hot choc mix (I picked cadbury) and mini marshmallows

S'more kits: choc chips, mini marshmallows and some sort of mini biscuit (I picked tiny teddys) just so they fit in the jar

Candies Galore: A fun mix of Lollies! $40

- Sticker paper ( you can get this online, I found mine on trade-me, or stationary shops) $10

- Printer

Total Cost was around $110 - $1.30 a favor which was very much in budget!

Once you have everything you need, fill your jars put the lid on and stick the label on and your done!

It took my a day to make 80 favors

I have put up the clip art on the tutorials page..

Weddings #1 - Wedding invites

Downloads..

I have already blog about the invites - but I have added some stuff to it..

This is our Wedding invite! I wanted a really full invite, with a few bits. So I have the main invite, a map, more info and the RSVP all held together with the cover and tied with string. All on the illustrations are my own - I painted them in water colour and the font was a great one I found online. The paper was 100gsm water colour A4 pad which has a creamy tint which I cut to size (I got this from my local emporium) . The outside is brown card from manilla folders (I bought I pack of 50).

Once the invites were done I wanted the envelope to like fun too! So I went to my post office and got a range of different amount stamps - 20c, 5c, 10c , 50c etc. They were very helpful at the post office!

For the 'sender' info on the back I used my DIY stamp to make it fast and look vintage.

I made 70 invites

Cost:
$25 Envelopes
$6 pad of paper (100 sheets)
$5 Minilla Folders
$2 String
$50 ink for my printer

(just the invite) Total $88

The postage to send my 70 invites was $100

I went a bit crazy with finding awesome wedding ideas, styles, things and bits and pieces! I found so many amazing ideas!

So I'm going to blog all of these ideas (that I used) over the weeks with DIY ideas, downloads and more!

Engagment Invites!

So my partner Sam proposed to my a couple of weeks ago!! super exciting!! and now comes all the fun-ness of organising a wedding!! We want a DYI wedding with a vintage/rustic theme - as we have a very little budget. I am going to blog all of these fun parts and how I have done it on our little budget. so here we go...

Here is my first part - the engagement party invite. I have designed them like a vintage envelope the folds up and closed with a sticker. I used Manilla folders as I wanted a heavy brown textured card that I could print on to, fold and stick - ready to go with my need for envelopes. I made 40 invites.

Cost:
$2 for the manilla folders ( I brought 100 for $20 which I will use for the wedding invites)
$20 stamps!
$1 sticker paper
